Bernadette Marin is the sole proprietor of DeCloth Home Collection, a Chicago based company specializing in all types of window treatments, bedding, and light upholstery and decorating services for the home.

Bernadette has over twenty-nine years of sewing experience.  The art of sewing was passed down to her from her mother at the early age of nine years old.  This skill later developed into her passion.  At the age of nineteen she began creating her own designs.  Bernadette designs, sews, and embellishes the pieces she creates with original imagery.  In an effort to continue to hone her craft, she has completed courses and received certificates in Advanced Techniques in Garment Construction, and Jewelry Making, as well as Floral Designs.  She attended the Custom Home Furnishings Academy in Charlotte, North Carolina, is a member of the Window Covering Association of America, and is a member of the Window Fashions Certified Professionals Program.

Bernadette’s trademark is the use of fabric as an artistic medium in which she incorporates different techniques to alter the appearance of fabric.  In 2000, Bernadette’s dream of owning her own business became a reality with the opening of DeCloth Home Collection, an upscale custom interior design house.  DeCloth showcases creations that are traditional, classic, romantic, and sometimes trendy.  Bernadette is featured in the December 2007/January 2008 issue of Chicago Realtor Magazine and her wine bag creation has been awarded nomination as one of the best gift ideas in Chicago.
